PROGRAMS

Wage Justice And Work Equity

CARE SD is committed to advocate for caregivers’ dignity by ensuring fair and lawful wages as well as providing protections for their health and safety. CARE SD assists in filing wage claims, worker issues or

referral to labor lawyers or the DLSE.

CARE SD will also provide a safe space for workers, employers and care communities to have a healthy exchange of ideas through forums, symposiums and other special gatherings to allow them to work together harmoniously. The Worker Equity program will work to afford caregivers opportunities for self-development whether in pursuing further education or learning new skills.

This is our most active program and proven to be very impactful not only to the workers but to the whole community. This program goes hand in hand with collecting unpaid wages faster and educating us with our rights and the law as well as employers’ responsibilities.

Likha Hilom (Create, Heal)

CARE SD will work to offer mental health resources for caregivers to safeguard their well-being. A healing space where caregivers can learn dance, poetry, music and other artforms as creative relief.

Teatrong Pinoy, the in-house theater group made up of caregivers trained in BITAW and Expressive Arts Without Borders will manage the space as well as the social media channels of CARE SD providing

these with informative content. Teatrong Pinoy will also mount performances for education and  dvocacy and hold arts training not only to fellow caregivers but also to other interested sectors.

Tao Din (Also Human)

Tao Din (Also Human)

CARE SD regards caregivers as individuals not just workers. To this end, CARE SD will work with various government and non-government institutions to find resources that would be of assistance to caregivers and their families. CARE SD has alliances with immigration lawyers to help caregivers with immigration issues and to conduct Know Your Rights training. CARE SD understands that majority of caregivers are women and we will work to create a program that is focused on women empowerment.

Planned Future

Usap Tayo (Let’s Talk)

Tao Din (Also Human)

In consultation with caregivers and working with various sectors, we hope to find benefit plans for caregivers that will give them a future without worries. We keep in mind that caregivers, too, will age and will need caring.
